Iron Fence Repair

Iron Fence & Gate Repair Done Right

Iron fence repair is usually the right call before a full replacement, and Houston Iron Fence diagnoses rust, welding damage, and panel problems to tell you honestly which one your fence actually needs. Whether the damage is a single cracked joint, storm damage after a fallen tree or high wind, or years of surface corrosion, our crew works on the existing fence rather than defaulting to tearing it out. Three things define our repair work: welding repairs that bring cracked joints, bent pickets, and broken frames back to full strength; rust removal, where surface corrosion is ground back and treated before it spreads further into good metal; and repainting and refinishing with a proper primer and topcoat system, not a rattle-can touch-up that fails within a year. Damaged sections are replaced and matched to the rest of the fence line, and sagging gates are rehung with proper hinge and post support. Contact us for a free estimate on your iron fence repair.

Not every damaged fence needs to be replaced. Bent panels, surface rust, a gate that's dropped on its hinges, or storm-damaged sections can usually be repaired for a fraction of a full replacement — if the repair is done properly, with real welding and a proper coating system, not just a quick patch.

We inspect before we quote. If a section is too far gone to repair reasonably, we'll tell you that plainly and talk through replacement instead of billing you for a repair that won't hold.

Iron Fence Repair FAQs

If the posts and frame are structurally sound, repair is usually the better value. See our repair vs. replace guide.

Existing rust can be ground out and treated, and a proper coating system slows future corrosion significantly — though no coating makes a fence rust-proof forever. Details in our rust removal guide.

It depends on sun exposure, coating quality, and age — see our repainting guide for general timelines.
